Hello there. I have a Dewalt corded drill, model number DWD115. The other night while working on a rather frustrating project, instead of gently setting the tool down on the floor, I dropped it, (not threw it!) and a quick flame shot out of the chuck and gave off a very strong odor of electrical burning. I figured it's toast, but for grins I pulled it apart, and gave it a quick inspection. There is no charring around the motor, bearings, or anywhere else, so I'm wondering if I just blew the switch out?
Has anyone else experienced this? I've done some price research, and it looks like a new drill for $70 or so, and a switch is around $25. I'd like to save the money, but hate to gamble 50 bucks, so any advice is appreciated!
Thank you!
