I have a broom finished concrete floor that I would like to grind smooth and apply a epoxy finish. Would a Diamabrush get it smooth enough or I would have to use something more aggressive.

Yes, the Diamabrush will work for a broom finish.
Shea have you done it over a broom finish?
Yes, we've used over a broom finish a few times. It's spot on that the more aggressive the broom finish the faster the blades will wear as the other poster found out. However if you just renting the tool from Home Depot you don't need to worry about blade wear. Just make sure the tool you rent has fresher blades.
JT - thanks for starting this thread, I have a similar project, my main barn floor is about 1200 sq feet and has a pretty rough broom finish that I would like to smooth out and put an epoxy finish on.
It sounded like a 7" grinder may be a bit on the small side for my project, is there something else that folks have used for a larger area? This is what I am working with. Thank you!!
