Diesel Heater Heavy Odor

I have a 65K forced air heater that I run on diesel. Its made by Dyna-Pro? Some no-name brand I got off eBay. I've run the thing hard for 2 seasons in the winter and its been great. Good heat and low-odor that never bothered me in the least. It was fine the beginning of this season but has since been producing alot of odor, to the point that my eyes water.

I have cleaned both air filters so far and that seemed to help some. I didn't notice if it was a spark-plug or glow-plug ignitor. If its spark I'll replace it, if glow then I'll clean it.

Anyone have any other idea? Fuel filter? Clean the nozzle?

I know that diesel isn't nearly as clean as kero, but for the price (its almost half) it WAS working fine. I was thinking of maybe mixing 1/2 and 1/2?

Thanks.

You need to clean the tank and the injector, you just need to run kerosene through it and then it should be fine!!

DaytonFan is partialy right. I'd take the unit totaly apart and clean everything out. You'll be amazed at how much **** and carbon is in the unit! Then burn 100% kerosene thru it and you should be ready to go. Also read the owners manual for it and burn what is recomended for fuel thru it only. some require kero only others allow use of diesel some don't.
Just my $ .02
Thanks D.J.
