Difference between blue and red Homelite?

I spotted a blue Homelite chainsaw for sale and Im interested in buying it. If I google the model name, the same vintage chainsaw shows up but they are all the classic Homelite color. Does the different color mean anything?

That was their color before the red, they stopped using the blue around 1970 except for a few special runs

So this saw is really old as far as chainsaws go.

Its definitely vintage saw. Have you heard it run? I saw a blue Homelite on ebay the other day but seller had no idea if saw ran. I have 1958 vintage Homelite generator,,colour at that time was green.

I have (10) vintage Homelite saws, what model is it?

Many of the old Homelites were rebadged McColluchs, which were all great saws in the day. Parts are hard to come by now but you can find doner saws fairly readily for repairs. - Paul
