Different lights on same circuit??

Is there any reason you can't put different types of lights in the same circuit?
I plan to put in CFL, LED, and halogen.
My biggest concern is the LED, because it has a weird transformer looking box, and whenever I turn it on, there is a 2 second delay.
(in a kitchen, not a garage)

Does this cause some power problem, or potential fire hazard?

im not an expert on this, but im sure some on here are. In my experience with these lights (led) however, they are very low power consumers. The transformer is probably there to lower the voltage to around the 5 volt range. not sure why there is a delay. Did you wire this your self? how many wires on the transformer and what colors?

Nope, it's fine... no safety issues there. Just make sure you don't mix line voltage with the low-voltage wiring, or attempt to feed a bunch of large halogens through the LED fixtures and their smaller wiring.

Also, you have to make sure any dimmers installed can work with the load. Not a safety issue but many older dimmers will not dim LEDs, many LEDs and CFLs cannot be dimmed, etc.

I'd put everything on it's own switch, all on the same circuit is fine.

Be sure to not over load your amp draw(total) of your circuit, it's the
ballast of the LED's and the wattage of the lamps on HPS, and CFL.
The CLF can sometimes have a ballast but most times it the wattage on
a lamp itself.

12 Amps(total) for 15 amp circuit.
16 Amps(total) for 20 amp circuit.

You have to make sure that your down light excepts and is rated for
all the lamps you want to use...

thanks guys. I need to recheck the LED wiring and the amp draw. Unfortunately I don't have too much experience with this stuff.
