Dimmable strip fixture

Hey, I’ve been going through a lot of the lighting threads and trying to make sense of it all. I’m overwhelmed with options and hoping some one might be willing to help.

I do high end auto detailing for a living and I’m about to move into a new shop. I’m trying to make the place very nice and have a lot of wow factor. I’ve decided to use a bunch of 8’ or 4’ strip lights in a pattern. I’ve laid out the pattern on a scale drawing and it comes out to 34- 8ft lights. It’s going to be over kill so I’m wanting to find a dimmable fixture. Cost is also a concern since there are so many.

The shop is
36’x 88’
15ft drywall ceiling that is probably getting painted black
Preferably 5000k fixture/bulbs
Higher CRI is ideal also

Could you help me in the right direction in what to look for?

Hmmm... there's something I never thought about...
most people are concerned about more light. Does your name imply you do detailing and does a dark ceiling help in some way?

I don’t know a whole lot about lighting.. but I assume with the number of lights, the black ceiling won’t be an issue. I also hope it will make the pattern of the lights stand out more.

Yes, I do detailing. When doing paint correction (buffing/polishing) it’s best to to it in a dark place with black walls so the reflections don’t interfere with what you’re focused on. Also, scratches are typically white and can get lost in the reflection of a white wall/ceiling. You just use led spotlights with a very high cri rating (from a company called Scangrip).

The majority of the area of the shop will be car storage. I’ll have a work area for the major work and a wash area that will be well lit. Most of the jobs I do are more like restoration than cleaning and can typically take about 30-60 hours to complete.

If you don't find what you are looking for, you could set them up on multiple switches. Maybe 1/4 of the lights on each of 4 switches. It will take a lot more wire, but then you could have some of the same effect.
