Does this ratcheting screwdriver handle exist?

I'm trying to find a nice ratcheting screwdriver handle, thinking maybe it doesn't exist. It''s a stubby handle, it accepts 1/4" hex power bits and extensions that LOCK in, it doesn't have any bit storage in the handle, and it's not made in Asia.

If I don't find one I'll get the Wera Kraftform handle, I really like that one because extensions can click and lock in without pulling the collar, but I'd really like a stubby. I love the little Bahco stubby handles, but they don't lock.

So does this tool exist?

Have you looked at the Snap On? Take a look at the Snap On SGDMRC11AG. This part number is for the green but obviously you can get it in other colors. I think it covers all of your needs.

Doesn't lock in a power bit or extension, does it? I don't see any collar.

I'm not a fan of ratcheting handles so not sure who all makes that feature, but I know PB Swiss makes all manner of good quality hex bit handles and Wiha does too.

Craftsman had a set like that years ago, and it was the cat's ***. I wish I still had mine, as well as the ratcheting driver that flexed toward the base of the handle. Can't even remember what they were called, but I used the piss out of them.

Close, but no stubby from PB Swiss and Wiha has very few ratcheting options, from what I can find.

I think your stuck with the Wiha. And that's not a bad thing!

I personally love my Megapro, but it meets none of your criteria. It's not stubby, it has bits in the handle, and it uses insert bits, not power bits. Still, silky smooth ratchet action, comfortable grip, and solid construction.

Hmm, I wonder about this.
I'm a solid Malco customer, have been for years. Especially with their sheet metal tools. In 2012 or so, I was told by a factory rep that they dropped their polycarbonate handled drivers (pukey orange color) because it just wasn't cost effective to compete with the Chinese. They then intro'd these new style of drivers. My take was they outsourced. (Maybe he meant the orange handle material was too expensive.)

I considered grabbing some of the newer style, but they looked just too much like what everyone else was offering.

OP, maybe you should give Enderes a call. They make some of the toughest drivers out there, and though I'm not sure they have a ratcheting stubby available they might start making them if there's a demand for it.

magnetic like most all snap on multi bit screwdrivers, so no need for a locking collar
