Does anyone know if you can repair a driveway by heating up old ashphalt tailings.I once saw a guy heating up old ashphalt in a wheelbarrow with a torch and then patching with a shovel? thanks Kirk

today at work, a company came in and heated 4' by 4 ' section of the parking lot that were diped and cracked with a machine for 5-10mins (looked like a whole bunch of torches ) then took a hand rake scrached over it like it was lose gravle and re rolled it back in to place, its looks like new black top in those areas .

We've had new asphalt heated and re-worked to get a better finish, but I don't know how it works with older asphalt.

A couple years ago, I made repairs at our church with bags of asphalt patch that I picked up at Lowes. Worked well and it has lasted.
