Dyson is the Monster Cables of vacuums. I'm sure they are great, but way overpriced.

I was with you guys until I bought one.

Did "the test". Used our fancy-dancy bagless Bissell (copy of of a Dyson) vac to vacuum our living room. Even went over it twice to be sure.

Then used the Dyson. We will never buy anything other than a Dyson anymore.

It helps that I got it on clearance at HD for 150.00 ;)

I love my Dyson Motorhead V6, but for this price range they ought to have a quick change battery. The battery is good for 20 min and then your stuck waiting for a recharge.

LOL. Dyson's genius was not in the quality of the product, but in the clear canister where you can see the dirt.
You'd be shocked at how many passes it takes with my Kenmore before the dirt sensor registers clean. Nothing is wrong with my vac, and a Dyson wouldn't be any faster, it just takes time to loosen some dirt.

My issue with Dyson is that their turbine powered brushes are **** compared to electrically powered ones.

Anyway, if your vac is performing poorly, make sure you're not using cheap aftermarket bags.

The test was our original bagless Bissell Healthy Home which gets great ratings vs. the Dyson bagless. We used the original vacuum until there was nothing going into the canister anymore. Then used the Dyson and saw just how much the original had missed.

The Dyson was brand new, BTW, so there was zero other dirt in the canister to start with. I had washed the canister of the Bissell before the test as well.

That's the "compact" model. Great for apartments or people who can't lift the heavier versions. I nabbed the full size Dyson DC65 Animal with a bunch of attachments on eBay recently (still hasn't shipped) from this seller (http://www.ebay.com/sch/banateanul1949). The $380, offer of $329 was accepted. ;)

The DC65 was down to 175 then 150 at some stores.

I got one for 150 after buying our first at a good discount from Rakuten.
