Early Equipment Ground

I’ve never seen this early version of ground protection. This was on the end of my Grand Fathers router. Yes, I replaced beforehand I used it. Not sure what the coupling to the connector looked like.

I vaguely recall something similar - too young and too long ago! What I remember had a forked sta-kon instead a barrel connector.

It was supposed to be a way to connect to the receptacle cover plate screw to pickup the system ground (hopefully). This was needed back in the day when 2 pole recepts was the standard.
