I was torn between the Milwaukee 2767-20 or a scale airplane model (my main hobby) that sells normally for $300. I chose the model and saved $60
My paypal credit is on fire now!

They take a good financial hit on this actually. They take roughly 10% all told, less for stores, so a true 10% discount is absorbed by ebay. PP is a separate entity that takes 3% which often goes right back into CC processing fees. Seems more like a marketing tactic to get people to make more purchases and listings later. They ran a similar deal in May last year (20% off certain categories up to $50 off) but that was the only one I remember. I don't think we'll see this more than once a year.

eBay owns PayPal so it all goes in the same coffers. Not sure if they take a financial hit on this particular promo or not all they're are doing is taking a cut of everybody's FS listings. Cut price by 20%, take back 10% (really 14% after PayPal fees) on the back end and it's partly a wash. Guess it really depends on how much average sales increased for the day as a result of the promo to figure if they up or down, no? My guess is they wouldn't run it if they were on the losing end, just a hunch. Additionally keep in mind this was a promo for one day (part of one day actually) every other day they're taking their fat slice of all sales. Having trouble feeling sorry for them, LOL...

eBay owns PayPal so it all goes in the same coffers.

From Wikipedia:

"It was announced on September 30, 2014, that eBay would spin off PayPal into a separate publicly traded company, a move demanded in 2013 by activist hedge fund magnate Carl Icahn. The spin-off was completed on July 18, 2015.[45][46][47] "

eBay are spinning up their own intermediary payment service and will be actively pushing PayPal out in the coming years.

I still say they are tied at the hip, PP & eBay, but I know PP stock dropped significantly when ebay announced they are adding a new primary processor for transactions. PP will still be an option to pay

Not the same at all.

.

As of end of 2017 founder of ebay Pierre Omidyar owned about 5% of each company (approx 56M shares). He had been on board of both companies until recently but looks like he is no longer on board of PayPal. Agree companies are now separate but still share a large pecentage of common ownership as the shareholders of eBay received a proportional share of PayPal at spin-off. Institutional investors such as Blackrock are not typically passive investors.

Anyone have an issue where not everything in your cart went through checkout?

I have 7 items in my cart, and only 5 went through, the odd parts is I got a text about fraud alert for a charge to CPO tools which was one of the vendors that it looks like I didn't actually bye the item from.

15% off on eBay today with code "pspringtime"

The Coupon is a 15% discount off a minimum purchase of $25, valid from 9:00 AM PST until 7:00 PM PST on March 20, 2018.

I think I read the max discount is $50.00.

Last week, I did two orders, one on my account and another as a guest check out and it worked for me. Not sure if that will work this time or not.

MILWAUKEE 2125-20 M12 12-Volt 1,350-Lumen LED Underhood Light - Bare Tool: $184.95
Ends up 157$ at checkout so that's a pretty good price for that.

I believe the 15% sale is no longer going on, but there is a current 20% sale going on right now on select items. The code should be PRETTYDAY.

i thought from postings here it was thru the 26th, but i would rather get 20% if it is on something i want.

how do i determine which items are "selected"? is there a URL for that, as there has been for previous "sales"?
