Hi All,
I'm in the process of building a garage addition and I'm going to use the addition for shop space versus the existing garage which will remain primarily for parking/storage. I'm curious if anyone has any good ideas with how to get gas and electric to the addition. The basement is finished in line with everything that is to the front of the house in line with the existing garage, so I don't have feasible access to go through the existing garage.
The family room that's listed as "existing house" is actually built over a crawlspace on footings that are actually walled off. To run stuff through there I believe I would have to open it back up(remove block) and crawl in there to support gas pipe and conduit part way.
So, I've got 2 options I think, unless someone else has a better idea.
I'm leaning towards Option one, as our soil is super easy to dig here and I could probably hand dig it less than an hour, or rent a subsoiler for my subcompact JD.

- Run everything around the crawlspace. I should be able to punch some conduit and gas pipe out through the first floor joist easily enough. Then I could bury it next to the family room and come in through an exterior wall for the addition.
- Knock down some block, crawl my *** through a dirty crawlspace with about 2ft of clearance and install some hangers for pipe and conduit.
