I'm new to this forum. From Texas and getting some bids to get electricity to my barn. Thinking it might be doable myself after seeing the quotes. Anyway, still researching.

Mark R hello and welcome to the GJ.

Can I suggest you update your location as in future you may find that helps you when you have specific questions that affect you. Specially given the forum has a very global membership. Often you will find subjects may get different answers depending on locations and regulations.

Depends on your location some cities will want a master electrician to do the work or at least sign off on it before the inspector sees it. I did all my electrical myself as the city I’m in doesn’t care who does it as long as it’s code.

Ditto.

I had an electrician trench from the house to the shop, run the conduit and install the panel in the shop. From there I did all the wiring in the shop myself.
