EnviroPoxy?

Does anyone have experience with a product called EnviroPoxy? It's a 100% solids epoxy. Decent price. They make a gray and a clear. Recommended procedure is to put down a single layer of gray first at around 10 mil, then a clear of another 10 mil. They claim the clear is UV resistant (since there is an exposed edge outside the warehouse door that is important to me). I'm located in Canada, which makes many of the US products hard to get over here. These guys manufacture the epoxy in Canada, so no customs/brokerage on shipping.

The data sheet has the following:

• Tensile strength = 6,830 psi @ 7 days
• Flexural strength = 11,400 psi @ 7 days
• Compressive strength = 14,225 psi @ 7 days

Ask them if it is a "True Epoxy".

Most people recognize the term 'epoxy' as a term like kleenex or band-aid.

A true epoxy is not 100% UV stable. It can be modified to have some UV stability.

ANY exterior epoxy even when "UV Resistant" will be greatly discolored in 8-10 Yrs.

IF you choose to install your chips on the floor in a 100% coverage pattern you can use an epoxy base coat. As long as your clear coat you use a chemical resistant urethane (CRU) as your clear coat or better.

You can purchase a colored urethane which will be UV Stable. I would recommend installing a colored CRU OVER an epoxy base. The reason is epoxy is a Cheap 'build' to get your 10 mils, THEN adding a 3-5 mil coat of CRU will give you the UV you want and added Durability.

The ONLY caution is the CRU cannot be applied OVER 5 Mils per coat.
