Epoxy-Coat Mixing Ratio

Hello all,

I've done plenty of searching, but can't seem to find a good answer, perhaps you can help.

I am about to coat my floor with epoxy-coat.
From other posts, it is not recommended to use the mixing stick for measurement. So, I have purchased multiple measuring buckets to properly measure parts A & B.

Method 1: I have read posts that use measuring buckets, and just evenly divide parts A & B into 4-5 buckets. Key point is that each bucket has the same volume as the others.

Method 2: I have also read posts from Christine at E-C saying that they typically add more hardener than needed, so the customer is never short of hardener. She mentions a 2:1 ratio of A to B (but the instructions note 2.3:1).

So, I'm a little confused. Which is correct?
Any harm in using all the contents of the kit (as in Method 1)?
Method 2 is obviously from the manufacture, but seems to be conflicting information between what E-C has posted here, and what they say in the manual.

Suggestions?

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
Mix 2 parts "resin" to 1 part "hardener" by volume and mix with a jiffy type mixer for 3 minutes, minimum.

In order to facilitate smaller batches they utilize a measuring stick to keep the DIY between the lines, no pun intended..

The measuring stick provided with the kits are marked for a 2.3-1 ratio. However, a 2-1 ratio will work just as well.
Also, you mix for no more than 3 minutes. After 3 minutes the epoxy will begin to smoke and can become completely solid.

I just coated my floor yesterday with Epoxy-Coat.
The instructions that come with the kit specify a 2:1 ratio.
The instructions that you can download from Epoxy-Coat.com specify a 2.3:1 ratio.
The downloadable instructions also say if you mix with measuring cups/pails to use 28 oz of hardener to 68 oz resin (which equals a 2.4:1 ratio).
When I measured the volume needed to get to the lines on the measuring stick, I found that the lines equate to 28 oz of hardener and 72 oz of resin (which equals a 2.6:1 ratio).
I used the 28 oz - 68 oz measuring pail method (2.4:1 ratio) for 5 half kits and by the time I had half the floor covered I noticed I had already used 3/4 of the resin, so I ended up spreading out the epoxy more for the remainder of the floor so I wouldn't run out.
The floor came out very glossy and is quite hard after 17 hours of curing at this time.
I do have a lot of little bumps in areas but from what I've read, that could be from over mixing, applying when the temperature is too high (it was 90 F yesterday) and/or from not using a primer.
I'm happy with the results but when I do my attached garage I'll probably use a primer and I'll try a 2:1 ratio.
