epoxy coat repair

Just a curious question since I still have 2 squares to resurface. I had a huge bug land in some wet epoxy and it did some damage. I figure I will hand sand the surface smooth and dab the area. Any idea how I can make it blend into the rest of the surface. I didn't do a clear coat over.
I guess I should ask this since the first floor I ever did I dropped a heavy part on the floor and had a good size chunk come out. I'm sure I will do that again LOL.

I would use a small roller instead of dabbing.
At some point I would live with imperfections,if it gets to bad recoat in a few years. I would like to do some touching up myself but have decided to wait until I really have some real damage to fix.
I drag stuff right across mine. Wash it with car wash soap and a scrub brush every now and then. It's holding up fine,few rub marks but no bare concrete.

I tried to spot fix some areas about the size of a quarter and it didn't turn out so great. My problem I think was that when mixing up a super small amount it's hard to get the ratios right.

I think you would have good luck with sanding a slightly larger area, say about the size of a piece of standard notebook paper and touch it up with a small roller when you mix up the bigger batch. Don't forget to SOLVENT WIPE after sanding. If you barely overlap the sanded area with the fresh epoxy it should level out nicely. You might be able to feather it out with a small paintbrush also?

All that said, you probably won't notice it after you start using your floor if you just leave as is now.
