Epoxy over tile

Hi to all Epoxy Experts,

I have a beautiful brand new house with ugly kitchen tiles! I really hate those tiles!
I am aware that the best solution is to remove the tiles and put a new flooring, but I just cannot do that.- not so much due to the cost but because of the mess:noise, dust, damage to the cabinets etc!

I would like to get this area epoxied with mirror finish? what are my prospects on this? Any advice is much appreciated. I also would like any contractor names from Houston, TX area.

Guys: This customer called me and I sent her here for some advice and a local contractor referral. We focus more on the DIY market and this is definitely NOT a DIY job. We all know the inherent problems with this job, but perhaps someone has a solution?

The best way to go about this would be to rip out the tile and install the flooring of choice.

I use the local franchise of this company http://www.surfacespecialists.com/Austin_TX.htm for tub refinishing, but they can do tile as well. http://www.surfacespecialists.com/CeramicTileResurfacing.htm

That link appears to be their only franchise in tx. If that doesn't work for you, I would look at other bathroom refinishing companies in your area.

However, I agree with the others. The best option is to tear out the old and install new. An experienced contractor should be able to do the demo without damaging your cabinets and the dust can be kept out of the rest of the house with zip walls and negative pressure (fan in window blowing outside).

Agreed with Average Joe.
There are outfits that prepare and coat tile to look like a mirror. They do tubs, bathrooms, showers, etc...

This will likely be a painting contractor as the equipment is similar.
