exposed concrete slab - epoxy?

Im going to get a slab poured as soon as I say go. This is for a metal garage that will be installed on it. (not the heavy duty red iron, just a carport style)

I've been searching and reading for sometime now.

First question, I just realized that my slab will be exposed on the outside of the building by about 3-6 inches. Now if I end up going with an epoxy coating on the inside, do you think I may have any problems? Moisture, etc.,?

Run your vapor barrier under the entire slab, even the portion outside.
Apply (2) thin coats of acrylic sealer on top and it should be fine.

The exposed area always get beat up and eventually looks cruddier than the inside, especially epoxy. It will chalk up, turn brittle and crack.

I'd go with Legacy's suggestion

I've used a product called J-35. It's a water-based clear sealer, I think it's made by Dayton. Purchased through these guys (they'll ship too) http://www.coatingsandsealants.com/index.htm

I would go with a very good floor coating that will not chip or peel. Otherwise you will be re coating the floor every few years.

yes, you are so right, thank you for bringing that to my attention. That's why I'm going with Legacy's sealer.
