Extra Heavy Flake in Rust Bullet Job

This may be one of my favorite projects. This whole project cost the customer $39.98 and that is only because he ordered some extra flake I did not know about.

We got a call a few months ago about a disabled vet and a local group working with wounded warriors. They were redoing his shop / garage and it was becoming a meeting place and also a place for him to work on cars.

He used 20# B-427 1/4" flake over a 1000 Sq. Ft. 4 coats of gray and one coat of clear. That's 2# of flake per 100 Sq. Ft. which is double what we normally sell.

Anyway, there are a lot of questions about how much flake.... 2# is pretty heavy.

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but personally, I don't care for that many flakes. If that is what the customer wants, that's great, I am just saying that to me having so many flakes makes the floor look "busy" and quite frankly, I don't care for it. In my opinion, a few flakes is a good thing, but you can have too much of a good thing.

Not my thing either. We generally go 1# per 100 Sq. Ft and usually there are some left. Flake density is hard for people to picture so I put it in a thread so people can see it

No question about it, helping out a veteran is a wonderful gesture, helping out a disabled vet is even nicer. My hat is off to anyone who does that!
