F836 diagram

Afternoon, I'm looking for some help getting my S.O. F836 back together. I read about it spitting parts everywhere when you open it up, so I was fortunate enough to keep an eye on the little ball when the spring ejected it, but I've got a couple of other questions where the washers and seals go.

I've searched around here and SO's website without any luck finding a parts diagram showing the order I need to reassemble this in, and all the videos I've found on Youtube are 936's or dual 80's which are both different guts than mine.

Anybody help me out?

This should be where you can find it but it looks like Snap On's website is currently broken.

That's what I was finding as well. It was broken for so long, I assumed they had shut it down completely or something.

Just called them to see if there was an issue with the site, and was informed that because this was an obsolete ratchet, they had no support of any kind available. Apparently they don't develop a parts diagram for their ratchets? Seems strange to me. I may have to take my best stab at reassembly, and hope nothing breaks. Or maybe I need to hope something DOES break, so I can send it in and get a new Dual 80 in exchange.

Still holding out hope that someone here will have some help for me.

I know it worked in the past when the ratchet was already obsolete. And they still do rebuilds on those old ratchets. Seems odd.

1. Reverse lever seal goes down is switch recess (wiper side up)
2. Washer goes in on top of reverse lever seal
3. Spring goes into bore
4. Ball goes on end of spring
5. Compress ball and spring with tool #SPP744
6. While compressing ball and spring, insert gear pawl
7. Insert gear
8. Place gear seal over gear (wiper side up)
9. Place O-ring into groove around cover plate
10. Install cover plate and screws

Id didn't see your response until this morning, but fortunately, this is exactly how I put it back together, other than step 5. I did it with a pocket screwdriver, and had my 6yo daughter insert the pawl while I held everything together.

I wish I'd bought the tool. I'll be ordering one now for next time.
