I got this 3/8" drive torque adapter 30+ years ago in an auction tool lot. None of the other tools were in any way related to this adapter.
The wording shown in the first picture is :
RAC 57W8941B-1
ADAPT-AFT WING SPLICE
F84F U.S.
The C and the 5 on the top line are a bit indistinct and so may not be correct.
I am assuming that the F84F is a reference to the Republic Thunderstreak jet aircraft which was in front line service during the second half of the 1950s. During that time I am sure that some Thunderstreak equipped units would have been based here in the UK.
Can anyone shed any light on this tool and make a guess as to the manufacturer?
