Thought I would finally post some pics of my newly epoxied 40'x40' floor. I rolled it on a couple weekends ago. I went with the Rustoleum Professional EpoxyShield along with the flecks. I have been pretty stressed about whether or not it would work out with my previously sealed floor (I used a Edco Grinder along with a ALOT of hours to remove it), so much so I ALMOST returned the kits. So far so good. I did 2 coats with the 2nd coat being put down nice and heavy. I am very impressed on how well the Rustoleum went on. It's coverage per kit even went farther then they stated on the box. I do have one very small section with some small bubbling (filled with liquid). There are a few other small bubbles in other areas but they are hardened up. I did buy 1 extra kit just in case I have to re-do some areas if need be. Anyway here are the pics:

And this is a pic of the sealer as I was using the Edco Grinder!! These balls kept clogging up the heads...

Looks really nice. Tell me about your air lines...is that copper or the Garage-Pak stuff...if it's copper how much did it end up costing you. I need to run mine in a similar sized garage and am trying to get a feel for expense to expect.

Thanks for the pictures, Winmon. I've finally settled on Rustoleum Professional for my three-car garage. I'm curious about how much coverage you got out of the kits: how many kits did it take to do two coats on your 40'x40' garage? Did you use any of the anti-skid stuff?

Thanks guys.

It is copper and to be honest with you, I don't know what it ended up costing me! I just had the plumber while he was here do it for me. It is probably best that I did'nt know! I did tell him how I wanted them run though. I thought about going with black pipe but had heard that copper would reduce condensation and also not rust.

I used 6-1/2 kits. That covered about 1560 sq ft (1600 sq ft minus 40 sq ft for the bathroom). So it cost me $650 for the epoxy. Not bad. I checked UCoatit's price and it would have been almost $1600 :wtf: and I would have had to order it. It was nice to be able to buy it locally (@ Home Depot), especially since I was not sure how far it was going to really cover. I did not use the anti skid on it. However, with the flecks and no clear coat, it makes it just like I did. I wish I would have put on a clear coat. The Home Depot here did not carry it, so I would have had to order it. The problem there is that with the solvent based epoxy, you have to put on the clear coat within 72 hrs so it would have gotten here too late. Oh well, the flecks really are not that bad plus I do like the looks of them.

Just a note on the copper, I did mine 2 months ago. Price shopped the copper
and Lowes was cheapest, 10' length of 3/4" type L was $16 and change. Last
week that same pipe was almost $36 :shocking: Glad I got it when I did,
guessing I have 5-600 $ in material (haven't added it up yet). These prices
have just gotten stupid :wtf: electrical wire way up too. Anybody else run
into this lately?

Oh, heck yes.

I work in the public safety signaling/telecom division of the City of San Francisco. The price we pay for any kind of copper cable (both telecom/data wiring and multi-conductor electrical wiring) has gone through the roof - some varieties have almost TRIPLED in cost in the last couple of years.

To add insult to injury, we are also dealing with an epidemic of copper cable theft all over town - if the lowlife scumbag street bums aren't breaking into our corporation yard to steal it, they're going into cable vaults and manholes and ripping out the active underground feeder cables.

One of these brain-dead drug-addled scumbags learned a hard lesson last month while trying to remove a LIVE 4KV feeder from a sidewalk vault. :shocking: ...turned him into a Post Toastie.

Aw, too bad. :lol_hitti Wish it would happen more often.

how long after the first coat did you put on the second one? I just bought two kits for my two car garage and didn't know how long to wait... also, can you elaborate on the reasoning for why you should have used the clear? I still have time to put the clear on if you convince me that it is worth it...

I did the second coat the next day. I gave it about 24 hrs. As far as the clear coat goes, it just would have made it smoother and with more shine. If my local Home Depot would have carried it I probably woould have put a clear coat on. I actually do not mind it without the clear though. I mopped it for the first time yesterday and it was not slippery at all.
