Hello Garage Journal community--

I'm embarrassed at how long it took me to find the Introductions forum. Am I the only one who has found that tricky? There was nothing "intuitive" on the home page directing me to it, but I clicked on things randomly until "Post New Thread" finally showed up. I guess I'm even worse at using computers than I thought I was!

Well, I seem to have finally found it and I think I've figured out how to post a thread so I'll be ready next time I've got something to post or a question to ask.

Thanks for the welcomes! I'm a mostly retired owner of a musical instrument repair shop (now out of the music store and into my basement) with a basement (and small garage) full of instrument repair, machining, carpentry and gardening tools. I have a few mechanics tools, but I hate working on cars. I play saxophone, clarinet, and flute in three big bands (think Glenn Miller or Benny Goodman-type bands), and three community concert bands. I'm pursuing learning about machining as a hobby and am an active Craig's List devotee (buying, not selling!). I'm a member of the Hobby-Machinist forum and have found myself directed to this group by Google enough times--mostly about older tools and vises--that I figured it was time to join.

Welcome Bill. You have two posts now so you must be finding your way about OK. If in doubt about what part of the forum to use just ask as you will find many here only too willing to help. We also have a Q & S section that may help you with any forum issues etc.
