So I have a normal open fireplace and I want to make a little heat exchanger to get more heat out of it. I bought some 1 1/2" black iron pipe that I can piece together to make a 4 pass exchanger (or 2, 2 pass exchangers in parallel). My hangup is finding a fan / blower that I can fit up to it. I would like something that will look professional and plug into 110V. I'd also like some speed control on it.

I plan on placing the blower unit about 3' away from the fireplace and run a flex duct along the floor (all hidden with furniture).

Any ideas on where to source the blower and how to connect it?

I was looking at them at Lowe's.

Any ideas on how to go from a 1 1/2" black iron pipe to a 6" metal duct that doesn't look rediculous?
