Hello from the 'great' Northeast. Professional DIYer and political commentator/consultant and all around nice guy (my wife would beg to differ sometimes). Grew up on a farm doing all the farm type stuff, pretty good with electrical work (worked for my grandfather electrician for a long time). Retired after 28 years with the Air Force and now doing computer network design and consulting. Do as much of my own work as possible because I got tired of hiring someone and then having to fix their mess. Avid motorcyclist and pilot.

However I will warn you. This site is addictive and is filled with a bunch of pushers that will end up making you spend thousands on tools that you never realized you needed until you started spending time here.

I'm pretty good on spending thousands on tools even without a real need all on my own. Well, can't say there isn't a need but I do have a MIG I bought 2 years ago because I got a good price on it and just the other day used it for the first time. Never used a MIG and have been a stick guy for a long time. I obviously did not know what I was missing. But that's a discussion for another day.
