Well I've been getting ideas on here for a while and finally got some stuff done in my garage this weekend, figured I would post it up. This is my first garage, my wife and I bought the house last June. The house is finally done..been busy with the kitchen, landscaping,etc. Finally some time for the garage! Lucky for me and one of the reasons I liked the house was that the garage was an addition by the first owner(who must have been a mechanic, or had a serious shop. He made it fairly big for a 2 car - 23x25 w/ 12' ceilings, put in 6 240v outlets, has 120v outlets everywhere(including the ceiling), and installed a wall A/C unit. They only put drywall on the sides connected to the house and the ceiling(I'm assuming to meet code), the other 3 walls had studs, insulation, and a vapor barrier. Anyways on to the pics.
My goal is to have hybrid working garage/man cave, and on a BUDGET.
When we first moved in and got all the remodeling **** out -
My first attempt at organizing about 2 months ago, getting there -
(This one was taken the other day before tearing in to it )
And as it sits now - Almost done with the first wall, will finish next weekend hopefully.
The back wall will get the same drywall/cedar siding treatment as the right wall. The left wall and ceiling which were already drywalled will get paint. On the right wall I still need to finish up some trim, another coat of mud, primer, and paint. The space between the cabinets will have a 32" TV. Still not sure on paint colors, and if I'm going to leave the cedar siding natural, stain it, or paint it. I will probably leave it natural for now. The white in the middle of the pegboard is white paneling from Home Depot, using it as a dry erase board. To the right of the workbench and cabinets I will eventually have a drill press and mini lathe..will build on depending on what I find(bench or free standing) I'm only 21 and while I have most hand tools/power tools I don't own ANY shop tools, yet.
Budget is the key word in my build, so far I have around $300 in materials, so not too bad. Will update when I get some more work done.
