First post-Question about high lift installation

Hi,

I am installing a new high lift garage door with a jackshaft opener and wanted to if it is possible to install the torsion spring assembly below the top track in the triangle space behind the radius? I don't see why this would not work. It would allow the top track to be within a couple inches of the ceiling.
Anyone ever done this?

That's what it looks like but typically there isn't enough space for the really large pulies at the end of the jack shaft and the door sticks out of the track radius as it moves. The door also needs the space to keep from scraping the ceiling. If the mechanism is moved, (even a little bit) the springs also need to be re-calibrated. (in size or turns)

If you want tight to the ceiling, you need a high bay track with a "low headroom" package on it:

You can combine high lift and low headroom - you just need to discuss with your door manufacturer and see if they can accommodate it, provide the track, the special rollers on the end of the door panels, etc.
