Howdy,

Garage roof building question.

Should I go with Scissor truss or beam and sticks?


First the facts:
22x24 garage gable style-roof. I service door.
9 foot walls for (2)9 foot overhead doors (wide ) and 8 ft tall.
Planning to put a - 4 post car lift (storage type) no hydro in.
I will need 9'6 " overhead clearence for Most of the garage.


Question(s) about roof structure:

Which is cheaper for labor and lumber , scissor or beam?

What funtional advantanges favor either scissor or beam?

This is a residential not commercial garage, I'm building it for residential use with auto storage in mind. I will NOT be doing big lifting in it , but the next owner may want to.

SHOULD I GO SCISSOR OR BEAM? Please make any other related suggestions
