Flat (i.e., thin) extension cord

So my wife had a mediocre idea. She wants a very flat electrical extension cord that will not telegraph from under the rug.
I would think it might be called “ribbon-style” or something similar. Anyone know if such a thing exists at a reasonable price? And where such places might be?

I have a fairly heavy sorta flat extension cord that I think was on a fridge when I bought this house. Some kind of appliance cord, I believe.

It’s not ”flat”, but the three conductors are side-by-side so it’s not as bulky as round cord. The wall plug is also kind of flush with a 90° connector.

If whatever you’re using it on can take a lamp cord-style twin-lead cable, that’s going to be fairly flat under many carpets.

NO! Do not run an extension cord under a rug! That's a great way to start a fire. Cord get's damaged from foot traffic or furniture movement and the next thing you have a spark generation cord, not enough to trip a breaker, but enough to start a fire under the rug.

That is exactly why code requires outlets as close together as it does today, to discourage the use of extension cords.

You can buy commercial extension cords that are designed to be laid across the floor. but they are a short rubber "threshold" design with an inset to hold and protect the cord. They would definitely telegraph the cord location if they were under a rug. In fact, I'm not sure they are even rated to be run under a rug, since I've only seen them run directly across a floor.
