I have recently purchased (but have yet to pick up and bring to my garage) a scissor type vehicle lift made by OTC that has the label on the end of "FlatJack". It raises and via a compressed air line going to a foot pedal unit, and it looks similar to this item, with pads that extend out to support the vehicle, but with a base plate that had divots in it where the bottom of the arms lock in as a safety mechanism in case the hydraulics fail.

The owner doesn't have any info on it, other than the sticker on the end that says OTC FlatJack, with an owl logo for the OTC part. I have searched all over the internet for information on this item, and called OTC and no one can tell me anything about it. I got it as part of a deal for a Porsche 914, with extra parts galore, another engine, and tools. I would really love some info on it as I know I will need to service it some day and I also want to know the max capacity of it instead of just relying on the guy's word that it will lift a 2500lb car fine.
Any thoughts?
Brian
