Floor prep?

Hi, first post here, looking for some info, got inspired with this great site and I am about to paint the Garage floor with Rust-Oleum Epoxy shield,i poured 4 inches cement on an exisiting floor and it was sealed( approx 1 year ago), wondering if i will have a problem with the cement sealer used ? i am Staining outdoor sidewalks as well and he used the same sealer(approx 2 years ago) can i be assured that with standerd prep that it will allow the paint and stain to adhear? You need to ask the manufacturer of the new coating to be installed (Rustoleum). They are going to tell you that the sealer has to go...

Also, we have thousands of formulas and we're just one company... No one on this site or in the whole world can answer that question without knowing what product was applied. Also... what kind of stain you are planning to use.

My suggestion is to go to an independant paint dealer (not a big box, not sherwin williams, not a 'big brand') and get someone local to give you advice and sell you products. Typically, independant paint dealers are WAY more knowledgable because they own the place... they're not just there to pass time at a job. They have a vested interest to make sure you are satisfied!
