Fluke 88V vs Power Probe IV

I'm so tired of cheap crappy DVOM's and want to upgrade. My main segment of usage is automotive diagnosis. The 88V is obviously Fluke's idea of the premier automotive DVOM but the Power Probe is also highly regarded in the industry. They are different animals for sure but also have similar capabilities. The 88V is probably a little bit more expensive but the PP4 is also a pricey piece.

I'm looking for some opinions on which would be a good tool to add to the box for electrical diagnosis.

PP4 is less than a $160 on eBay fwiw.

Go with a Fluke 87V/88 and learn it well (as long as all the electrical theory you can absorb). Knowing a real meter will make most anything else obsolete. I haven't touched a test light or circuit tester in a LONG damn time.
