For shame

I'm only posting these pics as a way to shame myself for starting something and not finishing as planned....

This one is a cautionary tale for others. After removing the overlaid concrete that was installed by a previous owner in order to provide drainage for a detail shop, remodeling the bathroom, completely finishing off the walls and a new ceiling, new electrics, etc. the place ended up as a large closet. :(

I intended to keep a couple of bays in this one but ended up renting the whole thing out to a tenant. I still don't have my own shop/garage. And I'm getting old...er.

Not good I'd say: You had shop, remodeled shop, lost shop. What lesson did we learn today?:D What does that lease/rent for, size?

The lesson is that nature abhors a vaccum. It will fill space with old appliances, boxes of unidentified junk, and garden tools if you don't fill it with tools and vehicles first.

This is the outside of the 7,000sf shop. That and 2-1/2 acres of gravelled yard runs $3,250/mo.

I really don't understand this thread. Are you going to renovate it, move back in, is it currently leased to a tenant? Very confusing thread, but hey it's probably just me.

It's not you.
The pics are just a bit of self-motivation on my part to finish up a project this year. They're like the picture of the bikini that the woman tapes onto the refrigerator door to remind herself of her goal.

$3250.00 a month for storage space woe must be nice

No, no. That's my building and I leased it out for that amount to a truck mechanic after I took these pics. I intended to keep the two end bays that are separate from the other 4 and turn it into one of the beautiful spaces that are on this forum. Never happened, just like the little one never happened. Yet.

Boy, this thread really did get confusing. I should just stick a picture on my refrigerator and leave it at that. :)

Get started, do a little bit at a time and set small goals towards the end goal and keep us informed. Posting progress pics may help to motivate you and provide encouragement.

Putting pics up for everyone to see is a great way to keep you focused. Keep em coming!
Get your space setup and let us watch as you do it.
