Couldn't locate the original post, but the Free Fluke 2-AC arrived today.

These were the result of a review request by Fluke. The deal was supposed to be anyone who completed one received a free tester.

Fluke made good on their word!

Really test that thing... I had a similar device from Home Depot in a green package, and it gave false positives, and more importantly, false negatives. I no longer trust it.

I have the 1AC. If yours is anything like mine, it's very accurate, that is to say you can pick out the hot side of a run of romex bundled with many others. The Flir one that I have is too sensitive. It basically just tells you that there's power near you. I like the Fluke for being able to poke thru a cabinet full of wires and tell which exact one is hot.

With mine, you could shake it in your hand (like the old style mercury thermometers) and it would alarm. I wondered if it was detecting static electricity. LOL.

I got one too! Fluke is one stand out company! The tester is very nice and accurate. I will put a review on Fluke's website once I get some good use of the 2-AC.
