Fuel pump pressure tester

I need to buy a fuel pump pressure tester but since I only use tools like this occasionally, I didn't want to buy something like a Mac or Snap On kit? The tester will be used on ATVs and motorcycles. Can any of you recommend a good, reasonably priced test kit for me? I do use some Harbor Freight tools but the reviews on their kit is not great. Thanks.

there were some threads in hot deals/amazon wherehouse sales. look for proto or similar OTC kits.

That is only good for carburetors, nothing runs on 15 PSI anymore.

Something like this is what you need for testing any modern EFI. Most will run 30-65 psi.

0-15 PSI. That is for "old school" mechanical pumps.

NOT for use with anything EFI.

Yes, I should have said that it will do most, not any.

A master kit will include all that you need, but they're expensive. The above kit will only work on systems with a test port.

I have the HF fuel injection test kit. It's worked well for me, but I am a weekend wrencher.

I don't think my ATVs have a schrader valve so I will need to use a tee to access the fuel pump lines. Not sure about the motorcycles but I would doubt they would have one either. Just a basic weekend mechanic myself and not real experienced but I enjoy working on them anyway.

If you are only working on a specific piece of equipment, you can easily make your own tester, with the correct range of pressure gage, some fittings and hose.

For years I used one made from an old gauge from an a/c gauge set I got for free.

Dont get the HF version! Ive tested it against other gauges and its way outta spec. The gauge needle sticks sometimes too.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to use the OTC 5630 Fuel Pressure Test Kit to start with and add some hoses, etc for my ATVs.
