Fuses for AC?

For better or worse, I installed 30A fused disconnect boxes for my two mini-split units. The boxes (Cutler Hammer from Lowes) specify type H fuses. However, the fuses I got at Lowes, while they are 30a and the correct physical size, say nothing about their type.

Is there something special about type H, and if so where to get them?

Elroy understands that the "H" fuse is for "high inrush currents". These conditions would typically be found in starting a motor. Or in your case an A/C compressor. Your standard 30 amp fuse should be acceptable. After you get some age on your equipment you may find that a standard fuse will open, especially on start up. If that happens then you'll need to find the "slow blow" fuses called for.
