I like it but $2099 after the pre-sale ouch, What computers can do just amazes me!

That's pretty cheap by CNC router standards. It's not an exact comparison, because the Origin can't do variable-z work. But it more than makes up for it in having an essentially infinite xy envelope, while not actually taking up any significant amount of space when not in use.

I have bought tools that paid for themselves in short order. This I suspect would fall into that category. You can not have my plasma cutter, or my Kitt shear/nibbler. I hope to say that about this router.:dunno:

I thought about preordering one, even as far as bringing it up to the wife, then I thought about it some more, I have had bad experiences with new products before and decided to wait until they have all the bugs worked out.

Also the fact that I would be giving them $1500 now and not getting the product until September 2017.

I ended up ordering one after seeing it at an event in September and spending time with their team. I do furniture and projects around the house and the capabilities really blew me away versus the size.

If you want to take the plunge, you can save $100 by following this link - https://preorder.shapertools.com/ref/CV03NEKFB

Full disclosure - I save $100 and you save $100 if you use the link.

There are over 40 videos on the product and projects on their youtube channel if you are interested - https://www.youtube.com/shapertools
