Garage Air Filter

My garage is part of the basement of the house (raised ranch design) and at times there can be a bit of a smell of gas or paint from the garage enter into the house. This isn't a problem in the summer; just open the garage door, but in the winter this isn't an option, and there are no windows in the garage either. Anyone have any suggestions for an air filter/purifier for the garage or any other ideas how to "clean" the air?

I don't think you're going to be able to "purify" enough to deal with smells like that. I think that you have to exhaust that air and replace it with fresh air.
