Well I thought I could figure it out:headscrat. I put a insulated 16x9 overhead door in my garage and can't seem to figure out the spring tension for the door. There are two springs. If I turn them the same amount it will pick the door up off the floor but by the time its half way up, theres no more tension on the springs and if you lift it further than that the cables come off the track. If I were to twist the springs differently, say the first one 8 times and the second 4 It would probably start to lift but I would think after 4 turns the spring that wasn't wound as many times would start to wind the other way. Not sure if that made sense but If anyone has some advice or a general direction to point me, it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Dave

How much does the door weigh closed? How much does it weigh open? What size drums are you using?

Seems like a good starting point would be to determine if you have the correct springs for that door. If you don't chances of asjusting them to work are pretty minimal.

Called the supplier, Turns out they didn't send me the "struts" that run horizontally across the door on each panel. Therefore the door was too light for the springs. I went and picked some up and now with the added weight I have got it pretty close. Thanks for all your help.
