Garage Door Opener Recommendation

Hello. I would like to ask if anyone has a recommendation for an opener that does not use a proprietary (eg, Chamberlin Security 2.0) wall button to initiate the open/close process for the door. I just want to be able to use a simple SPST type button to control the opener from inside the garage. Is there an opener on the market that still uses a simple open/close contact (doorbell type) button? Thank you.

Overkill, certainly, but ratgdo (Rage Against The Garage Door Opener) can give you local wifi control of newer Chamberlain openers as well as enabling simple dry contact control. I have one on each of my three Liftmaster 8500W openers. Brilliant. I do still use the provided wall buttons. I don't see the issue with them (so long as they don't fail). I got ratgdo for the home automation aspect - forget the piece of trash that is myQ.

Kezorm - so I just installed a NIB 8500 (from 2014) liftmaster and have the myQ app - which I like for the status and ability to open/close. While it would be cool to use my alexa and just tell it to open/close the door(s), I am not a "home automation" junky. So would this ratgdo just add wires into the existing ports and everything else stays the same? Don't want to redo any of my existing wall mounts, remotes, etc.
