Garage Foam Insulation

I was wondering if anyone had some recommendations on what type of foam to use (open or closed) for my garage.

Closed cell (2 lb.) foam offers the most R-value per inch - usually 6.8 - and is considered a vapor barrier...more or less water and vapor-proof. It is also structural, adding to the overall strength of the building to which it is applied.

If you're gonna spray foam in Vancouver, get closed cell. Make it worth it.

Mine was calculated per sq ft per inch of thickness. Dont remember the exact amount.

I have a question. I put ductwork up in my trussed attic. I was going to foam the ductwork alone but the installation messed up the fiberglass. I was thinking of going with an unvented attic so that I could still rewire stuff easily. the space is 32 x 36 5/12 pitch. So this will be pricey. I can get 4 x 8 foam boards from a distributor seconds pile. Would tacking up panels and then closed cell foaming over everything be a good idea?
It seems a shame as I have full 2' soffet vents on both sides and full ridge vent. The roof is metal panels so I am not worried about shingle life.
