I've been reading page after page in the forum over the last few days in regards to Racedeck and the off brand replicas. I have a few questions that I was unable to answer by searching the forum.
I've got a 2 car garage that serves as a storage area, customer pickup, and garage for 1 car. Two years ago I had premier garage come out and give me an estimate and they found several "moisture problem areas" that prevented me from going that route. (After reading this forum I feel lucky!) We receive a fair amount of UPS/Fedex deliveries during the week that consume a portion of the garage. Seeing as the floor is not pitched correctly toward the door we have to park the car outside during "wet weather". As you can imagine this defeats the purpose of the garage! My questions are as follows:
1) Does the Race deck (or equivalent) provide enough ground clearance so that water can drip off a car (snow too) and not travel 10 feet to where the boxes are and soak them? I'm considering the "free flow" tiles as my solution.
2) There area a few small areas where the concrete is not flat. we're taking 8" x 5" ares where the concrete seems to have raised 1/4" to 1/2". Do these areas need to be ground off with a grinder or can the floor float over them?
3) I see talk of people washing the floor and wondered what the experience is with the free flow design. I suspect it would be difficult to clean because of the ridges and holes. Anyone have some real world experience with this? Am i better off just putting the free flow where the car would park?
4) I see all of the garages get tiled straight to the walls and not just in the area the cars park. Is the floor easy enough to remove a section of for cleaning? Can one just unsnap the section of the floor that isn't under tool benches and heavy objects? (Maybe this isn't even necessary)
