Generac uses LONCIN China made motor

Has anyone discovered that the Generac generator they own is powered by a LONCIN chinese made engine? My buddy just noticed his generator has a LONCIN engine the same in my Predator 420cc generator from harbor freight.
Same carb & same badge laser engraved on the engine.

Anyone else have any feedback?

Hey dude I pulled apart my genrac 3000i generator engine yesterday due to a rod knock and can’t find parts anywhere for this thing I think it’s a loncin engine and I can’t even get ahold of anyone at genrac willing to help or tell me the origin it’s a 149cc air cooled single cylinder and I can find the part number LC165F-4 on multiple parts and sure as **** loncin pops up with a similar engine when you google it, not exactly the same but similar will post a picture

As a rule of thumb I stray away from anything Generac. There is just something about how they sound when running that is like nails on a chaukboard to me. My house house generator is a Cummins, and my portable is a Predator 3500 inverter. Both have been outstanding for me.

Well they were putting kukje diesels in their small diesel gens so it doesn't surprise me.
