I have noticed they had a bad run on the earlier generation handles that the plastic was defective and they just end up crumbling, falling apart. My Snap-On dealer says the handles are not covered, so I had to end up buying a new handle on my upholstery door panel tool. Anyone had a handle replaced before; are they really not warranted from Snap-On?
If you carry a balance with mr Snappy, buy a **** load of tools, or are on his route as a regular you will never have a warranty issue (what fool would kill the golden goose?)
With that said if you only buy on occassion, are not on an established route, you don't buy hudreds of dollars of tools at a shot from him, or he does not know you, now you might have a problem.
It will likely not matter that you bought the tool new yada yada yada......save yer story man, he is just not interested. At least that has been my experience.
I have tons of poor warranty service stories about Snap-on that still piss me off, and yes the non warrantied million dollar doubles as a ***** screwdriver/prybar handle is certainly one of the ways they screwed me too! I always say at least Sears replaces the whole damned screwdriver and not just the blade...........Snap-on..............chincy Chinese tool importin Bastards!
