I want a reciprocating saw (saws all) is there a good website that compares the saws with eachother?

Are the craftsman saws good?

The September 2009 Popular Mechanics has a recip saw review. Not surprisingly, they like the Milwaukee Sawzall the best.

I have a Milwaukee 6537-22 that I've had for several years. Works great, no complaints.

I have a milwaukee hatchet sawzall. I like it because I can position the handle where I want it, and it has plenty of cutting power. I have easily cut 1/4" wall, 2x2 tubing with it. I would recommend it.

I have a 40 YO Milwaukee... one rebuild..
6 YO milwaukee... no problems
4 YO Bosch... hanging in there.

Ime not sure but i can say that my 12 amp ryobi recip saw is horible it was ok priced i had it for a few weeks it did ok then a year later now well its just no good smokes gets hot etc

as a matter of fact i would not recomend any ryobi products ive had a few and yeh

I woul probably say a milwakee of some type i have heard lots of good things

I've had the same Craftsman 10amp (model 900.271261) recip since the early/mid 90's. The thing has taken everything I've thrown at it and just keeps coming back for more. And I'm hard on tools. Brutaly hard.

fwiw - My last couple of Craftsman circular saws did NOT hold up real well for me. I was only getting two or three years out of them. Purchased them back in the late 90's, early 00's. Not sure if they've lightened up on the engineering of all their power tools over the years, or just their circular saws. Last one died in the middle of a job, ran up to one of the big boxes and grabbed a SkilSaw circ to get me through - that thing just doesn't have a "quality" feel to it at all.

Yes the PSE1200 is what I've got. I bought the recon model from CPO Metabo for 117 shipped; it looked absolutely brand new and had the same warranty as a new one. Milwaukee does make more powerful units but I couldn't see myself wanting or needing a huge heavy saw. I will get back to you on the country of origin, I'm away from my shop until Sunday and I will have to look. I do have a cordless M18 Milwaukee that has been great for yardwork and outside jobs where there is no outlet. It doesn't have all the features of the corded models but it's just a good little workhorse.

..supplied by Porter Cable...the most recent "Flex" models also say "made in mexico". Didn`t checked out the "Kress" model yet but i guess its the same.
