Grainger always has items on clearance, everything you can imagine.

Here is a light fixture that looks interesting. Note it is High Bay, but probably would not be too bad if mounted 12+ ft, you just don't get the spread of light, the reflector focuses it more downward and less outward.

Note that it would take about $100 to put the bulbs in it! Still not a bad deal.

These are the lights I have used. Similar concept. I think these end up being cheaper since the bulbs are included.

I also have found some of these T12 8 ft strip light fixtures (no bulbs) brand new, in the box, 120V, for $10 each at a Habit For Humanity store near me.

I already have all I need. The ones Habitat has are 277v only. They only want $20 but the ballast is so much its not worth it.

However. Grainger has complete housing, ballast and socket, 400W MH pulse start, multi-tap ballast, on a clearance, for only $37.39

Buy the Habitat lights, swap the polycarbonate reflector and bottom lens and mounting over to the new one and add a bulb and for less than a hundred you have a working fixture.

Go one better than that, and buy a complete high bay fixture, complete with aluminum reflector for even less, $31.64. Don't like the aluminum reflector and high bay task light focus? buy the habitat light and swap over the reflector and mounting and lens. These lights are all the same, same housing, same ballast (if it specifies 400w MH multitap) and you just need different mountings for reflectors and the different reflectors and lenses to suit your need.

We seem to be installing more of the 4 and 6 lamp T5HO fixtures like pictured above as a substitute for low/high bays. No warm up time along with less energy consumption is a big seller to companies with large warehouses full of them. The local Walmart DC here just swapped out their lowbays for T5HO's, they mentioned that it'll pay for itself in about a year or so. But they also have fixture mounted occupancy sensors on each one as well to kill the fixture when no one is around.
