I have a older BYB 4 post that has NO grease fittings. I have lubed the 4 corner pulleys a couple of times by taking them apart easy enough.

My question is how do you get the pins out of the under ramp pulleys in order to grease them ? Yes I removed the set screws

I tried a few things including some strong magnets - no luck

I am thinking of drilling and tapping them to use a slide hammer or a maybe a bolt to jack them out but figured I would ask if there is an easier way first.

Thank You

You know that is also one of those things I forget to do, Just call the company. I hope they are still in business for ssa's sake

Backyard Buddy Corporation is now one of the largest and oldest freestanding lift manufacturers in the country and we are very proud of the fact that Backyard Buddy lifts are built entirely in our Warren, Ohio plant using only U.S. or Canadian structural grade steel and hardware.

Why don't you call Backyard Buddy and ask them?

Wanted to service it this weekend and I got home to late to call BYB on Friday.

I know a bunch of guys here own them so thought I would ask instead of waiting until Monday to call and service it next weekend.

All those instructions are for the newer, updated lifts. I checked the website and my personal manuals before I posted here.

for those interested - the official suggested procedure is drill and tap the pins for 1/4-20 bolt and pull them with vice grips.

Well call them today since you were TOO late to call them on Friday.

Thanks .. another helpful reply.

If you see my post right above yours I did call this morning and took the time to post the manufacturers suggested procedure for the benefit of others who need to do this in the future.

If you gotta drill and tap, why not drill most of the way through and cross drill, install a zerk and no more problem, just grease occasionally.
