Griots sells some really nice stuff, but it seems to all be someone elses rebadged products.

You can find the same things elsewhere for much less. But without the colormatched red and logo.

The only things on sale or that they will put on sale is in the garage sale portion of the site.. I have tried to get them to price match and such,. no deal.
While it is true that they rebadge a lot of stuff. The upside is that they give you a lifetime unlimited warranty on anything and everything you buy from them. I have returned multiple items, no hassle and either gotten my money or another item. Sometimes that is worth the additional cost. It is something to consider at least.

While their tools and other hard stuff are rebadged, their car care products are all formulated and made "in house". Their main office is about 30 minutes south of Seattle and our Cobra club is planning an outing there in January. Ought to be fun.

The quality of their products is excellent. I have just a little bit of experience with it......

I second Kroosers opinion, I cannot imagine having enough free time to use more than a handfull of the car cleaning products in that cabinet! Definitely would not be found in the garage of the average workin man.

If you know the products that are in there, then you know they are all not polishes but various types of cleaners and treatments as well. Besides, folks like us like to try different products to see how they work and what works better than others..

Yep that looks like mine too. I actually have specail boxs I use to bring them down to the basement for the Winter so they don't freeze up. LOL And I concur Griots polishs and cleaners are TOP notch. Everything else they sell you can buy cheaper somewhere else. And they never EVER have a real sale but if you check the website they have clearance item's sometimes.

I've spent a lot of money with Griots over the years. Then one day I asked myself why. Their customer service/warranty is unbeatable and that's a fact. Their automotive chemical line is a pretty good line though I've found some of their product harder to work with (removal) than other first rate competitors. As with most car chemical lines they have a couple of products that are unique and stand out (Speed Shine, Under Carriage Spray to name a couple) but certainly aren't the best across their entire line. As I've considered my purchases with them I've concluded that there are few things they sell that I couldn't find a literal duplicate (branding difference only) or sometimes a better product than virtually anything they sell. If conveinence, customer service or warranty are your primary goals this is the place you want to shop. If you're an internet consumer and saving a buck is a consideration then I would tell you to keep shopping and chances are you'll come to the same conclusion.

I'm delighted that many of you have had good experiences with Groits..
My personal experience is that they are so overpriced on so many items that my money is better spent elsewhere. I requested them via e-mail to stop sending me a catalog...I was afraid that my wife would pick it up and buy me something as a surprise. Nothing bothers me more than overpaying for products.. With the internet it's so easy to shop for better products for less money...

Case in point... Wire Shelving.... COSTCO $76.00
Groits.. $900.00 exactly (as in EXACTLY) same shelving both places...
Groit's priced all the pieces out individually... shelve, post, wheel, etc...
It bordered on being criminal....

While the shelving may be the same functional product, there are different grades available. I am willing to bet that the stuff at Costco was made in China and the stuff at Griots was not.

A commercial restaurant supply place is probably a good place to get excellent quality wire shelving at a reasonable price.

A local place called The Container Store also sells the stuff by the piece. Expensive, but not as high as Griots.

You get what you pay for.

Yeah, I guess I don't polish my old junk very often...but most guys DO ask me what the hell I do with all the tools and equipment in my shop...

I will chime in and agree with most of the prior posts.. I have been shopping with Griots for quite some time. I have found virtually all of their products to perform as advertised. That doesnt mean that there isnt something better, however, I have yet to be really disappointed. They take stuff back even after its been used, no questions asked.. that means a lot to me.. they warranty stuff forever and that means something to me too..
I also agree that you will see something that they sell and THINK that someone else has the same thing for a lot less.. it is rare when that happens. You can find it cheaper somewhere else when you are getting exactly the same thing but without the warranty.. or you can find it cheaper somewhere else, but it is a knockoff of what they sell.
Their chemical line is good and all of the items come in the same sized neat packaging that is easy to use and store.. so you dont have a bunch of different sized items that dont fit your shelves.. Their sprayers are great too..

I also got the discount coupon in the mail and am hoping that they too will have an after Christmas sale.

Bump! I have bought some stuff from Griot's. The battery jump start was not satisfactory from the start. they took it back, no questions.

I have bought 2 of their cantilever tools boxes. Mine is full, and overloaded. Sometimes I have to beat the sides in, but that tool box is used nearly every day on the job. After 4 years, it still works and allows access to my tools. too bad they do not have a tool registry, I would sign up for that.

Funny this came up today. Last night, I was at HF. Was looking around and saw a glove dispenser, 3 pack of magnetic shelves, spray can holders, and one other thing I can't remember. They are exactly the same as those from Griot's (I know because I just got some from Griot's). I'm not talking they were similar - they are the same ones. I think they were from US General? Half the price of Griot's. Richard just has them powdercoated in his red, slaps a sticker on them, reboxes them and doubles the price.

I have bought a few things from them and have always been very pleased with the products. I have one of these that I've owned for five years, the hose is now broken and I called earlier this week to get a replacement, they are shipping it out free of charge. I will continue to purchase selected items from them in the future.

I've bought a few things from them ONLY when it is so much better in design or functionality than something I can buy at a local big box shop.

Case in point, Griot's tire dressing applicator is by far the best...with the round red handle and pad inserts....hands NEVER get dirty. Have tried many others out there and after a few uses, the sponge rips from the holder and it's trash.

Extended Orange shop vac hose and tools...Awesome! 12' long, fits my ShopVac and allows me to vacuum entire car while keeping the shopvac mostly in one position. The days of dragging the vac around the car and trying to keep it from hitting the paint are over...case solved.

One thing that I feel is definitely MUCH better elsewhere are the wheel cleaners. Cleans about as well as green colored water compared to the cleaners from Eagle or Armorall you can pick up at any Target or K-Mart, etc. To use up the bottle I had to clean each wheel atleast twice just to get most of the brake dust and dirt off.

However, having said that, their bottle spray nozzle with Red and White handle is the best spray nozzle for any cleaners, etc. Think they charge $3 for it alone.

A new catalog was in my mailbox yesterday. There is a 15% off coupon on the back, must be used by October 30th. There appears to be no oter limitations to what it can be applied to. I want to chack with them regarding how many times the same coupon can be used before I post the Key Code here.

And you think this costs Richard nothing? The quality of his products and the customer service is beyond the pale. So many of us begrudge someone trying to make a living. There is a huge difference between being frugal and being cheap.

I would agree with most people on here. Most chemicals I will buy from Griots without a lot of questioning it. Hardware items I do take more seriously, I keep my eye out for the same sort of thing and often find a better bargain. I've only had one item I've not been quite happy with but that was partly my fault. I misunderstood what the Weatherproof Tire Dressing was for and thought it would be a semi-gloss/almost satin type of dressing. Everything else I've been greatly satisfied with and will continue shopping there just like I will continue shopping at other places as well.

One of the hardware items I do plan on buying is the temperature adjustable heat gun. I think that it would make the most out of the tool, especially for that price.

I have been pleased with some Griot's products, other are kind of average.

For easy one stop shopping, their catalogs are great marketing. Personally, I found it always best to shop around.

Live not 5 min. from their Fife,WA store and was amazed how clean and organized their retail store was granted it was only about a 15 ft. by 40 ft room. Was quite turned off though by how many salespeople (counted at least 6 during my visit) was working in such a small store asking if I needed an assistance every 2 min. I think they go a little overboard in that respect. just my .02 cents. lol

Wow, thanks for the tip. I liked that Griots wringer, but no way I was going to pay $200 for it. I never could understand why it was so much. The Harbor Freight version should fit the bill nicely. Guess where I will be tomorrow?
