Hang Fluorescent on Wall?

I've got a 30X64 shop that I'm finishing. There will be white steel (liner panel) on the walls and ceiling. The walls are 10' 4" and cathedral to 12' 8". Originally, I was going to put two rows of T8's where the ceiling flattened out. Yesterday, my electrician suggested I mount the lights on the wall where the wall meets the ceiling. He said the lights are less likely to get broken (there will be a basketball hoop) and I won't get that weird shadowy look when the ceiling fans are going. At first I was totally against it but I'm reconsidering. I'm worried about shadows in the middle of the shop. Has anyone seen this done? If so, how does it look and are there shadows (pictures?)?

I have often seen them on the wall for under the lift lighting.
At 30 feet wide I don’t know how bright it will be in the middle of the shop,
but there is no reason to worry about putting them there.
