Heat exchangr

I was going to hook-up my infloor heat to a 45000 btu non condensing boiler.84 percent eff. rating. But the majority of the posts suggest if your not in the garage alot infloor heat may not be the most efficient. Plus I would have to hook up a mixing loop/ pump because I should have my return water @ 140* or higher to be boiler efficient. I have the common plumbing configaration ( temp/pressure gauges, expansion tank ,3 speed pump ,air elimanator and relief valve) So I was thinking about using a heat exchanger instead of the infloor heat as long as I have the boiler and plumbing done. This way I could use my boiler to heat exchanger and should be able to heat boiler up to 180* and return my water above 140*(Am I right or not). Also I could have the faster heat when I need it. What do you think? Is a heat exchanger very efficient way to heat my Garage. Garage is 26x38 2x6 walls 10' ceing fully insulated. 2 insulated overhead doors,1 service door & 3 windows

I don't know about efficiency but I have 2 in my shop. My shop's addition has in-floor heat and I love it. But the "old" part of the shop has a water to air exchanger to heat it. Since I have the boiler running for the in-floor it just made sense to add some additional pex and an exchanger. Does the job just fine. I keep the boiler's limit at 180 and temper the water to the in-floor (I want to say 100 in).

btw: I use the same boiler to send water to a couple radiators in my office.
